Walk on Water

School Project: Human Water Hamster Wheel

May 2008

Objective: Develop an apparatus that is capable of allowing a human to "walk on water".

Design:  The human hamster wheel is constructed of thin wall electrical conduit (EMT).  The conduit was bent to form the outer case and everything welded together.  For buoyancy, the cage was warped in four air mattresses and 2x4s were used to gain forward movement.

Results: The constructed "Hamster Wheel" was able to successfully enter and navigate through a college sized swimming pool with very little effort required by the user.  Maneuverability of the wheel of easy and completely stable even with multiple people inside.
